Masthead for Music Magazine

The masthead for my music
 magazine looks likes this  ------->

I have chosen this font for my magazine masthead
because it is modern and cool. It looks very
sophisticated, like many hip-hop artists do.
I want my magazine to have a sophisticated feel about it, which can appeal to more than one target audience. The curved edges look classy and smart, but the Masthead still has a cool edge to it because of the slashes through the font.I used the font "interlude" from the website dafont which creates different fonts.I felt that this font would appeal to my target audience the best because it is not gender specific.

My second idea for a masthead was this. This font is called "Greyhound SF", I chose this font because it has a stylized association with music in general. This enables my readers to distinguish the magazine as a music magazine, which will encourage readers to purchase my magazine. I decided that by adding the vinyl on top of the "i"
 made the magazine seem more old school hip hop and fresh, and it was not an idea I had seen done anywhere else. The final masthead that I have used for my magazine is red because it gives my magazine a more dramatic look and catches the readers eye.
